Zdenek “Sid” Adolf Kacer, 86, of New Buffalo passed away on Friday, October 2, 2009 at Jordan’s Life Care Center, Bridgman.
Private family services will be held. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
Sid was born February 10, 1923 in Chicago the son of the late Adolf and Marie (Kostal) Kacer. He served in the US Marines during WWII. On June 2, 1945 he married the former Marguarite Preisler and she preceded him in death on March 13, 2004. Sid retired from Kraml Dairy in 1988 and was a member of the Sokol Havlicek in Chicago.
Survivors include two daughters – Patricia (Alan) Meiers of Maryville, Tennessee and Cydne (Larry) Tilsk of New Buffalo; five grandchildren – Sandra (Tom) Ranft, Michelle (Brendan) FitzSimmons, David (Jennifer) Tilsk, James (Megan) Meiers, and Pamela (Michael) Newman; and 12 great grandchildren.
Sid was also preceded in death by a sister, Valsta Rous in 1990.
