William James Miller, 60, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 20, 2003 at his home. Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be announced later. Memorial contributions may be given to Zion United Church of Christ, Baroda or the Bridgman Lions Club.
Mr. Miller was born September 16, 1942 in Dayton, Ohio and served his country for 30 years in the US Army. He retired as a Colonel in 1994. He has a Bachelors of Science from the US Military Academy, West Point. He holds Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Degrees from the University of Southern California and a Masters of Military Science from the Naval War College, Newport, RI. After retirement from the service he worked for Optimetrics, Inc. In Ann Arbor.
Bill served his community as a member of the Lake Charter Township Planning Commission. He was immediate past President of the Bridgman Lions Club and currently was it’s Zone Chairman. He wa immediate past President of the Dunewood Property Assoc. Owners and was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Baroda where he served as the church Moderator. He was also a member of the Bridgman American Legion Post 331.
On June 13, 1964 he married the former Carolynn J. Ott and she survives him along with a daughter: Michelle (John) Brusard of Boston, MA and a son: Jon Miller of Marysville, MI; three grandchildren: Christopher Wallace, Joslynn Miller and Lucous Brusard; his parents: James and Pauline Miller of Stevensville; a sister: Pamela Miller of Lombard and a brother: Phillip (Charlotte) Miller of Phoenix, Arizonia.
