Wayne Jorgen Jensen, 87, of Bridgman passed away peacefully at The Willows in St. Joseph on March 30, 2011 with his loving family alongside him.

A Funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday, April 4, 2011 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Glendora, 1733 Glendora Road, with Pastor Thomas R. Brazinsky officiating. Military Rites will be provided by the New Troy American Legion Post 518 at Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday from 2 - 5 PM at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to the church or Alzheimer’s Association.

Wayne was born October 11, 1923 in Benton Harbor, MI, the son of the late Jorgen and Kirstin (Nielsen) Jensen. He owned and operated Wayne’s Club in Union Pier which has now become Red Arrow Road House where he was known for his famous broasted chicken.

Survivors include his children - Linda (Andrew) Bickel of Baroda, Sandra (Patrick) Glossinger of Bridgman, Karen (Wesley) Smith of Baroda; grandchildren - Matthew, Nicholas, Clayton, Shannon, Amanda, Adam, Ashley; 16 great grandchildren; and brother - Walter (Wilmarie) Jensen of Benton Harbor.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife of over 58 years, Joyce and a brother Herbert Jensen.
