Walter John Jotzat, 67, of Bridgman passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, August 31, at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman, with Reverend Christopher Noffke officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to The American Cancer Society, Relay For Life.
Walter was born December 12, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Heinz and Esther (Puskala) Jotzat. On March 25, 1972 he married Elaine Freehling and they shared over 39 years of marriage. Wally was a lifelong tool and die maker, enjoyed football , golf, and restoring old cars.
Survivors include his wife Elaine; children - Stephen (Alecia) Jotzat of Bridgman, Derek Jotzat of Anchorage, AK and Suzanne (Keith) Kluting of Fennville, MI; grandchildren - Emily Jotzat and Zachary Kluting; sister - Marilyn Barker of Berrien Springs; and a niece Christine (Gerald) Weingart of Elkart.
Walter was preceded in death by his brother Richard Jotzat.
