Walter "Butch" Emil Heyn, Jr., 59, of Benton Harbor, formerly of Bridgman, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2010 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center - St. Joseph.
You are invited to gather with the family to remember and honor the life of Butch Heyn at Lake Township Hall, 3220 Shawnee Road, Bridgman on June 24, 2010 from 6-8pm.
Butch was born September 26, 1950 in St. Joseph, Michigan the son of the late Walter and Margaret (Lockwitz) Heyn, Sr. Butch graduated from Bridgman High School in 1968 and joined the United States Army shortly after where he served our country for three years being honorably discharged in 1972. He was a member of the Bridgman American Legion. Butch enjoyed being and spending time with the "Boat Brothers". He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, men's softball and cooking. Butch was employed by DC Cook Nuclear Power Plant for fourteen years. Previously he was employed by Coca Cola, L&L beverage, and Behnke disposal.
Survivors include a son, Nicholas Holobaugh of Bridgman and a daughter, Becky Heyn of Galesburg; two brothers - Harold (Pat) Heyn and Myron Heyn both of Bridgman. Butch was also preceded in death by his sister Joann Kuss.
