Virginia "Jean" Lorraine Freyer

Virginia “Jean” Lorraine Freyer, 96, of Sawyer passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Corewell Health South, St. Joseph.  

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Sawyer, 5791 Sawyer Rd, Sawyer, MI 49125, with Reverend Brandon Wittig, officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 10 – 11 AM on Saturday at the church, prior to the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Three Oaks. Memorial contributions may be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church of Sawyer. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.

Jean was born on July 24, 1926 in Sawyer, the daughter of the late Robert and Ernestine (Schmidt) Krieger. On January 17, 1945 she married Walter and he preceded her in death in 2014. Jean was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church of Sawyer. She loved to read and spend time with her grandkids.

Survivors include her children: Richard (Edie) Freyer, Terry (Larry) Penley, Craig Freyer, Tina (Jimmy) Walter; 15 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and siblings: Mildred Dolezel and Arlene Harfert.

Jean was also preceded in death by siblings: Chet, Bob, Ruby and Lovey.
