Vernon Roeder, Jr

Vernon T. Roeder, Jr., 74, of Stevensville, formerly of Bridgman passed away on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, Sept 14, 2016 at Zion United Church of Christ, 9100 Church Street, Baroda, with Reverend Christopher Noffke officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 5 - 7 PM Tuesday at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. Vernon was born April 28, 1942 in Stevensville the son of the late Vernon T. and Rosalie (Loikits) Roeder, Sr. Vernon married Kay F. Dinges on February 22, 1964. Vern worked for Nylen Products for many years and retired from St. Joe Tool Company in Bridgman.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Kay; a son, Steve Roeder of St. Joseph; son-in-law, William Porter of Grand Rapids; brothers – Donald (Ola) Roeder of Sawyer, John (Pat) Roeder of Florida, Denis (Kris) Roeder of Edwardsburg and Kenneth Roeder of Bridgman; a sister, Rosalie (Warren) Svorec of Bridgman;

Vernon was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Porter in 2007, and two brothers: Ronald and Dale Roeder.
