Vernon Kugle

Vernon George Kugle, 92 of Stevensville passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at his home in Stevensville.

Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Friday, January 19, 2018 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2673 W. John Beers Road, Stevensville, with Pastor Ehlke officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Bluff Cemetery, Stevensville. Friends may meet with the family from 10 - 11 AM prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church or Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085.

Vernon was born Sunday, January 18, 1925 in Oronoko Township, MI the son of the late Frederick and Daisy (Strong) Kugle. On January 5, 1945 he married Malita J. Pudell. They shared 57 years together until Malita’s death in 2002. Vernon retired from Weil McLain in Benton Harbor.

Surviors include sons: Vernon L. (Sue) Kugle and Frederick J. (Sandra) Kugle; daughter: Jeannine (Richard) Martin; grandchildren: Vernon G. Kugle II, Leslie (Bret) Fencl, Stephanie (Nathan Taylor) Kugle, Lisa (Jim) Martin, Elizabeth Kugle; great grandchildren: Leah (Zachary) Orsillo, Troy Fencl, Craig Kugle, Connor Herron, Elijah Kalvin; great great grandchild: Heidi Orsillo; brothers: Earl and Jerry Kugle; and many nieces and nephews.

Vernon was also preceded in death by: brothers: Gladwin and Charles Kugle; sisters: Ellen McNees, Ruby Nye, Pearl Wurtz, and Ethel Huscher.
