Steven Paul Sackett, 62, of Bridgman passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his wife and children.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Saturday, April 7, 2012 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2673 W. John Beers Road, Stevensville, with Reverend Jonathan Kruschel officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 PM Friday at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. Memorial contributions may be given towards the needs of the family. Steven was born October 12, 1949 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Bernard and Betty (Pacillo) Sackett. Steve was a member of the US Army, a Vietnam veteran serving from 1969 to 1972. He was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church since 1983 and was dedicated to his work and family.

Survivors include his wife of over 34 years, Yvonne; his children - Melissa(John) Chase of St. Joseph, Shawn Sackett of Pittsburgh, PA, Christopher Sackett of Bridgman, Natasha Sackett of Bridgman; grandchildren - Noah and Grant Chase, Axel “AJ” Cobb, Madisyn Sackett; his mother Betty Sackett of Portage, MI; brother - Jeffrey (Susan) Sackett of Portage, MI; sister - Sandra (Jerry) Bolhuis of Mattawan, MI.

Steven was also preceded in death by his father Bernard Sackett.
