Steven LaPlante

Steven Allen LaPlante, 60, of Stevensville was received by his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at his home.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:30 AM Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Lakeside Family Church, 6999 Red Arrow Highway, Stevensville with Reverend Christopher Peddie officiating. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10 - 11:30 AM at the church prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to Alano House of Southwestern Michigan, 4162 Red Arrow Highway, Stevensville, MI 49127.

Steven was born on November 6, 1954 to the late John Gideon and Delores Rosalie (Marvin) LaPlante. On June 10, 1989, Steven married Dawn Angel Rush. Together they have been faithful members of Lakeside Family Church in Stevensville. Steven loved the Lord and used his gifts in many ways. He could turn useless junk into treasures; he could grow anything that remotely resembled a plant; and he loved taking care of God’s creation.
Steven was also know to “take care” of chocolate - his favorite sweet.

Survivors include his wife - Dawn; his children - Angela Fisher of Michigan, Jenny Budd of Florida, Tonia (Jarad) Hauch of Stevensville, Terri (Michael) Feagin of Turkey, and their mother - Nena Lynn Coburn; six grandchildren; brothers Duane LaPlante of Stevensville, John LaPlante of South Carolina, Jerry ( Tamie ) LaPlante of South Carolina; sisters - Bonnie (Joey) Infinger of South Carolina and Pam (Tim) Shattock of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

Steven was also preceded in death by two brothers - Jimmy and Timothy Donald LaPlante and his beloved canine companion - Lady.
