Stanislawa "Stella" Dzienis

Stanislawa “Stella“ Dzienis, 89 of Bridgman passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 3903 Lake St, Bridgman, MI 49106, with Father Michael Hack, officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 10-11 AM on Wednesday at the church prior to the Mass.  Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Stella was born June 25, 1933 in Nowa Jastrzabka, Poland the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Kielbasa) Wielgus. On April 12, 1969 she married Jozef Dzienis in Chicago and he preceded her in death on August 11, 2003. After coming to the United States, Stella and Jozef lived in Chicago and moved to Stevensville in 1977 and then to Bridgman in 1979. Stella has been a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace since 1979.  She enjoyed taking care of her lawn, flower garden, cooking and being with her grandkids.

Survivors include her son: John (Kristal) Dzienis; two grandchildren: Rylee and Isaak Dzienis and a sister: Julia Flaga and many nieces and nephews in the United States and Europe.

Stella was also preceded in death by brothers: Walter and Theodore Wielgus and sisters: Genowefa Gorka and Zofia Flaga.
