Siegfried Hein, 71, of Baroda, was received into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at his home under the care of his family.

Funeral services will be held 10 AM Tuesday, August 30, at Christ Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville, with Pastor Martin Measel officiating. Burial will be in Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda. Friends may meet with the family Monday from 6-8 PM at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Christ Lutheran Church or Hospice at Home.

Siegfried was born July 7, 1940 in Kuxen Kreis Stuhm, Germany, the son of the late Hugo and Amanda (Frohlich) Hein. On May 21, 1966 he married Darlene Fietze and they shared over 45 years of marriage. He was a US Army Veteran. Siegfried retired from LECO in 2002 after 42 years of service. He also served on the Board of Evangelism, the Board of Elders, and was a faithful usher at Christ Lutheran Church of which he was a member. He enjoyed being with his family. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing with his son Mike and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Darlene; his son - Michael (Christine) Hein of St. Joseph; and three grandchildren - Owen, Rylynn and Olivia.
