Sherman Chester Bradford, Jr. 90, of Stevensville passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at his home.
A graveside service will be held on May 30, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Graceland Cemetery, 8545 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman, MI 49106. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.
Sherman was born on January 23, 1933 in Benton Harbor, the son of the late Sherman and Marjorie (Hammersley) Bradford, Sr. Sherman Joined the US Navy in 1952 and served in the Korean War on the USS Cambria. After his service he returned to Benton Harbor where he met his wife of 61 years. On April 28, 1962, he married Georgianne (Georgie) Kaminsky. Sherman worked for Heath Company and later Sherman and Georgie moved to Arvada, Colorado where Sherman worked and retired from Coors Brewing Company, Golden Colorado. He and Georgie spent their retirement between Michigan and Arizona. Sherman would tell you he was not shorted in life. He loved to travel and was lucky to see many different places. Sherman loved to camp, fish, and hunt. He was a big Denver Broncos fan and held season tickets, attended NASCAR races, and had the NASCAR Experience at the Phoenix Raceway and enjoyed many Spring Training Baseball games.
Survivors include his wife: Georgianne; daughter from the heart: Kellie (Randy) Eldridge; nephew: Brad (Maurene) Pliley; niece: Kim (Mike) Harris, Carrie (Curtis) Kinch and many other nieces and nephews.
Sherman was preceded in death by brother: Jim Bradford; sister: Dorothy Ross, Norma Johnson, Barbara Pliley; nephew: Gary Bradford, Brian Pliley, William Ross Jr, Thomas Ward, and niece: Brenda Pliley.
Arrangements entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman.
