Sharon Ann Young Matz, 76 of Baroda passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at her home in the care of her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Thursday, November 4,2021 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 3903 Lake Street, Bridgman, with Father John Tran, officiating. Burial will be Calvary Cemetery, Benton Harbor. Friends may meet with the family from 9:30 – 10:30 AM Thursday at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman. Memorial contributions may be given to the Baroda American Legion, Post 345. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.

Sharon was born August 17, 1945 in Benton Harbor the daughter of the late Raymond and Donna (Griffin) Young.  On April 18, 1964 she married Gene John Matz and he preceded her in death in 2000.  Sharon loved to travel, mostly to camp and fish in Kentucky and Tennessee.  She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Baroda American Legion Post 345. She enjoyed spending time with family and loved her time with her great grandchildren who brought her immense pride and joy.

Survivors include her children: Vance (Judy) Matz, Marianne (Randy) Nelson, Kimberly (Bill) Otte and Christine Matz; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a brother: Daniel (Cyndie) Young and a sister: Suzie Eubanks.

Sharon was also preceded in death by her brother Arthur Young.
