Scott Charleston

Scott Alan Charleston, 43, of Bridgman passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, November 29 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 PM Sunday at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan. Scott was born April 14, 1967 in St. Joseph the son of Wilbur “Bill” and Patricia (Ketelhut) Charleston. He was a 1986 graduate of Bridgman High School. Scott enjoyed being outdoors – hunting, fishing, camping, and walking with his trusted canine, Bella. He loved his nightly trek to Weko Beach to watch the sunset. Scott’s pride and joy was his family and he was a father-figure to the neighborhood kids. It was always a special time with his grandson, Seth, sharing a Chicken McNugget Happy Meal. On May 20, 1989 he married Holly Behnke and she survives along with two daughters – Cassie (Nick) Soucek of Eau Claire and Lexie Charleston of Bridgman; one grandson, Seth Soucek; his father, Wilbur “Bill” Charleston of Bridgman; a brother, Bruce (Virginia) Charleston of Baroda; two sisters – Debbie Charleston of Bridgman and Lori Hopkins of Stevensville; nieces and nephews – Kari, Kevin and Richard; great nephew, Shane Frederick; a sister-in-law, Kelly (Todd) Bennett of Bridgman and their children – Zak and Tia. Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Charleston, on November 2, 2006.
