Sandra Kay Nye, 56 of Stevensville passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011 at her home under the care of her family with the assistance of Hospice at Home.

Memorial services will be held at Noon Saturday, September 24, at Stevensville United Methodist Church, 5506 Ridge Road, Stevensville with Reverend Gordon Barry officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held prior to the service from 10 AM - Noon. In lieu of flowers, make donations to Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Sandra was born March 5,1955 the daughter of the late Samuel and Joyce (Wonnacott) Trovato. On September 14, 1974 she married David M. Nye in East Lansing at Peoples Church and shared 37 years together. She worked at Great Lakes Eye Care these past 5 years and previously was at Cedarwood Medical Center and Greenwood Orthopedics in St. Joseph. She loved flower gardening, and was an MSU and a Tigers fan. Sandra also loved to camp and take cruises. She loved to spend time with her grandkids and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband David; three children - Tracy (Brock) Blanchard of Wyoming, MI, Tina (Matthew) Esch of Portage, MI, and Steven Nye of Kalamazoo; two grandchildren - Michael Esch and Avery Blanchard; brother - Thomas Trovato of Naples, FL; and a sister - Peggy (Barry) Ferrill of Traverse City; and many nieces and nephews.
