Ruth Pries

Ruth Lorraine Pries, 89, of New Troy passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at West Woods of Bridgman.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM Friday, February 26, 2016 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman with Reverend Dr. Glenn Chapman officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 5 - 7 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Troy Cemetery, New Troy. Memorial contributions may be given to the Women’s Auxiliary of the New Troy American Legion Post 518, 4789 Weechik Road, Sawyer, MI 49125. Ruth was born October 24, 1926 in Fort Dodge, Iowa the daughter of the late Joel and Lillian (Rood) Nelson. Ruth was a member of Harbert Community Church and a longtime member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the New Troy American Legion Post 518.

Survivors include her son Michael “Mick” (Barbara) Pries of Stevensville; grandchildren: Matthew and Gary Pries.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Michael; her son Gary; and three sisters: Luella Mees, Phyllis Fairman, and Euretta “Yetty” Terracina.
