Ruth Ott

Ruth Louise Ott, 91 of Bridgman passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at Jordan’s Life Care Center in Bridgman.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman, with Reverend Jon Bendewald officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to The Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.

Ruth was born January 19, 1923 in Benton Harbor the daughter of the late Gustav and Bertha (Schmidt) Geik. On June 23, 1948 she married Sherman Ott and they shared 65 years of life and love together. Ruth was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bridgman and had been a home healthcare aid.

Survivors include her husband, Sherman; daughter - Judith Hahn of Baroda; son - James (Sherry) Ott of Bridgman; grandchildren - David Hahn, Timothy (Alietha) Hahn and Daniel Hahn; great grandchildren - Emma, Logan and Maddie; sisters - Evelyn (Emmet) Kemton of Bridgman and Lena Strefling of Lawrence; brother - Robert (Carolyn) Geik of Niles.

Ruth was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lori J. Ott in 1990; a sister, Mildred and brothers, Arthur, Henry, William and Edward.
