Ruth Neumann

Ruth B. Neumann, 90, of Baroda passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, October 7, at Zion United Church of Christ, Baroda with Rev. Christopher Noffke officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may meet with the family from 12 noon until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Zion United Church of Christ, Baroda.

Ruth was born December 3, 1918 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of the late George and Ester (Hammel) Lohman. On June 29, 1943 she married Walter Neumann and he preceded her in death on February 23, 1983. She was a long time member of Zion United Church of Christ in Baroda. Ruth was a devoted wife and loving mother. She died with the abiding respect, love, and devotion of her family and friends.

Survivors include two children – Marilyn (Jack) Apple of Kentucky and Michael (JoAnn) Neumann of St. Joseph; a son-in-law, Butch Lester of Bridgman; five grandchildren – Shannon Naden, Tracey Miller, Michael Apple, Steven Neumann, and Kristen Neumann; and three great grandchildren – Abigail Naden, Nicholas Naden, and Harlan Apple.

Ruth was also preceded in death by two children – John Neumann and Janice Lester; a brother, George Lohman; and a sister, Dorothy Lucas.
