Ruth Kuplic

BRIDGMAN - Ruth Margaret Powers Kuplic, 83, of Bridgman passed away unexpectedly during a battle with cancer on April 6, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2 PM Monday, April 11 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 3903 Lake Street, Bridgman with Father Arthur Howard, Celebrant. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday from 2 - 5 PM at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman, where a Rosary will be prayed beginning at 5 PM. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman.

Ruth was born February 23, 1928 in Menominee, Michigan the youngest daughter of the late Robert and Julia (Madden) Powers of Peshtigo, Wisconsin. On September 4, 1948 she married Neil Edward Kuplic in Peshtigo.

Survivors include her children - Dianne Sargent of Kendallville, IN, Eileen Kuplic of South Bend, IN, Sharon (Lew) Verash of Marshfield, MA, Beth Stanley of Grand Rapids, MI, Daneil (Cathleen) Kuplic of Baroda; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law - Charlotte Gibeault Powers, Philomene List Powers and Gloria Baumann Powers Larson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil in 1980, and 9 brothers and sisters - Mary VanCalligan, Lillian, Thomas, John, Frances, Ralph, Hazel Herman, George, and James.
