Ruth Berndt

Ruth Ann Berndt, 89, of Bridgman passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at West Woods of Bridgman.

A funeral service will be held at 12 NOON, Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Pike Funeral Home, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman with Pastor David Londot officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 11 - 12 NOON, before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman.

Ruth was born May 3, 1926 in Benton Harbor, the daughter of the late Leo P. and Lucile L. (Mealoy) Sabin. On June 29, 1946 Ruth married Harry J. Berndt who preceded her in death on July 23, 1999. Ruth was a member of Woodland Shores Baptist Church, and the Auxiliary American Legion Post 331. She was past president of the Auxiliary American Legion Post 105, Benton Harbor as well as Daughter’s of the American Revolution president.

Survivors include her children: Harry L. (Cindy) Berndt of Tennessee, Helen L. (Michael) Humbarger of Michigan; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters: Kathleen Snowberger of Georgia, and Margaret Jackson of Alabama.
