Ronald Magnuson

Ronald L. Magnuson, 86, of Harbert passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, Boyd Chapel 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. A memorial service with Pastor Jay Fast officiating will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11 AM at Harbert Community Church, 6444 Harbert Road, Harbert. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Harbert Community Church, PO Box 197, Harbert, MI 49115 or North Park Seminary Scholarship Fund at North Park University, 3225 West Foster Ave., Chicago, IL 60625.

Ronald was born Wednesday, July 8, 1931 in New Britain, CT, the son of the late Philip and Edith (Olson) Magnuson. On December 10, 1954 he married Marlene A. Dahlstrom. Ronald graduated from North Park Jr. College, Augustana College, Master of Divinity at North Park Seminary and received his Doctorate of Ministry at McCormick Theological Seminary. He was the pastor at Harbert Community Church for 26 years. His passion in life was spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years: Marlene; son: Mark (Eileen) Magnuson; daughter: Lisa Magnuson; three grandchildren: Kyle, Sara, and Claire Magnuson; and brother Philip (Arline) Magnuson.

Ronald was also preceded in death by a sister: Dorothy Magnuson.
