Ronald Hickman

Ronald Lynn Hickman, 77 of Bridgman passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Hospice Center, Lincoln Township in the care of his family.

Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Boyd Chapel of Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family 2-4 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Boys and Girls Club - Benton Harbor, 600 Nate Wells Sr. Drive, Benton Harbor, MI 49022. Burial and military rites will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman.

Ron was born May 28, 1940 in LaPorte, Indiana the son of the late Frederick and Frieda (Ploehn) Hickman. Ron was a US Navy veteran and prior to his retirement worked at American Home Foods, Eau Claire Packing and R.A. Mort Supply. On July 22, 1961 he married Doris Watt. Ron had a gregarious personality and never knew a stranger. He loved working in his home gardens with his wife. He had a very strong spirit and he kept it all going until the end. He loved his family and all his nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Doris; children: Terri (Jeff) Springs, Brian (Laura) Hickman, David (Tammy) Hickman and Christine (Kevin) Narregan; three grandchildren: Maria Springs, Sheila and Jacob Hickman; two brothers: James (Sue) Hickman and Robert “Butch” Hickman and numerous nieces and nephews.
