Roger Styburski

Roger Marlin Styburski, 66, of Buchanan went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Monday, July 30, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5791 Sawyer Road, Sawyer with Pastor Richard Collin of Grace Lutheran Church in Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in New Troy Cemetery, New Troy. Friends may meet with the family from 2 - 5 PM Sunday at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church in Sawyer or Grace Lutheran Church, 8636 South M-37, Baldwin, MI 49304.

Roger was born June 30, 1946 in St. Joseph, Michigan the son of the late Kenneth and Althea (Shearer) Styburski. He married Edith Strefling on August 26, 1965. Roger was a Viet Nam veteran and retired from Whirlpool in 2003 after 39 years of service. He graduated from New Troy High School in 1964. He loved the Baldwin area and spent every minute he could there. He loved fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. Roger also coached baseball, bowled and played shuffleboard.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years Edith; three sons - Kenneth (Debra) of Mackinac Island, Michigan, Kurt (Billie Jo) of Fruita, Colorado, and Keith of Buchanan. Roger was blessed with six grandchildren that he loved dearly; Christian, Hannah, Mabel, Ottilia, Kathalina and Kaylie. Roger is also survived by a sister, Jeanne Spletzer of Florida.

He had many friends and his smiling face will be missed by all.
