Rodger Edwin Kelm

Rodger Edwin Kelm, 72, of Bridgman passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Hanson Hospice Center.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Glendora, 1733 W. Glendora Road. Buchanan, MI 49107, with Reverend Jonathan Liebich, officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 PM on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman, MI 49106. Rodger was born on June 25, 1951 in St. Joseph, the son of the late Wilbert and Patricia (Butler) Kelm. On September 20, 1980 he married Pamela (Long) Stewart and they shared 42 years together. Rodger worked at Weldon International where he met his wife. Rodger later worked at Long Distributing and eventually his own Kelm Distributing. He worked armed security at DC Cook Nuclear Plant until his retirement in 2015. Rodger was on the Bridgman Public School Board for a number of years. He was also an avid drummer and played with many bands. He began playing with “The System” in High School and most recently played with “Red Deluxe”. Rodger enjoyed photography, spending time with his grandchildren, and most of all, traveling with his wife.

Survivors include his wife: Pam; children: Kari (Jeff) Bell, Kelsey Kelm, Chad (Nichole) Stewart; grandchildren: Madelynn (Micheal) Frank, Karsyn Stewart, Cooper Stewart, Mason Bell, Makston Bell; great grandson: Micheal Frank, Jr.; sisters: Debbie (Larry) Shermak and Tammy (Rob) Gallo; step-sister: Linda (Chuck) Thompson.

Rodger was also preceded in death by his step-brother: Billy Kelm.
