Robert Schaffer

On April 16, 1931 in New Troy, Bob was born to Albert and Marie (Gnodtke) Schaffer. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. On August 11, 1962 he married the former Ruby Baggett. Bob worked for Whirlpool Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 1995. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sawyer. Bob was also a member of the New Troy American Legion Post. The great passions in his life were family, RV Athletics, and the Chicago Cubs.

Survived By Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Ruby; two children – Kimberly (Mike) Livengood of Sawyer and Troy (Wanda) Schaffer of St. Joseph; three grandchildren – Cassie Livengood, Katie Livengood, and Freedom Schaffer; three brothers – Ron Schaffer of Buchanan, Albert (Lillian) Schaffer, Jr. of California, and Jerry (Peggie) Schaffer of Sawyer; and one sister, Alice (Ron) Germain of Bridgman.
