Robert Mayo Roth, 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Jordan’s Life Care Center, Bridgman.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, April 16 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bridgman with Pastor Jon Bendewald officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family Thursday from 6-8 PM at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Bridgman Public Library or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Mr. Roth was born May 15, 1929 in Cassopolis, Michigan the son of the late Mayo and Gladys (Ackerman) Roth. On August 1, 1950 he married the former
Marilyn Miller
and together they shared 59 years. Robert worked as a Probation Officer for the Juvenile Court for 37 years. He loved to hunt and was an artist. Robert was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bridgman where he sang in the choir for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife,
Marilyn
; three daughters – Catherine (David) Smith of Schoolcraft, Lizabeth (Glenn) Horak of Three Oaks, and Carla (Douglas) Norwood of Bridgman; a son, Mayo (Elizabeth) Roth of Bridgman; a foster daughter, Bonnie (David) Bischoff of Charlotte, North Carolina; 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Robert was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Smith.
