Robert Priefer

Robert Julius Priefer, 83 of St. Joseph passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at his home.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11 AM at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. A gathering of family and friends will be from 10 - 11 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Final resting place will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Berrien County Cancer Service.

Robert was born March 15, 1928 in Bridgman, the son of the late Julius and Matilda (Kopitzke) Priefer. On September 3, 1960 he married Thelma Koebel who preceded him in death in February of 1998. He was a field technician for F.P. Rosback. Robert owned and operated Sportsmen’s Repair Service in St. Joseph/Benton Harbor, as well as Clark’s Super 100 in Benton Harbor.

Survivors include his children - Michelle Priefer of Park Ridge, IL, Brian (Robin) Priefer of St. Joseph, Kimberly Priefer of Red Bank, NJ, Janet De Leeuw of CA, Cathy Priefer; grandchildren - Kelsey, Ashley, Amanda, Alexis, Jared, and Connor.

Robert was preceded in death by brothers, Joel and Leonard Priefer, and his sister, Lydia Baggerly.
