Biography

Bob was born November 23, 1920 in Michigan City. He graduated from Niles High School and attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois before serving in the Coast Guard during World War II. Bob worked 20 years as a purchasing agent for Clark Equipment Co. He retired in 1982 from his position as purchasing agent and head of personnel for the City of St. Joseph. In 1984, Bob and his wife Gerry moved to Vero Beach, Florida and built a home in Laurelwood. Bob was active with the Senior Center, AARP and the Elks. Lodge 1774.

Survived By He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Geraldine "Gerry" in 2006. Survivors include their two sons – Dale (Dana) Machalleck of Chicago and Dick (Judy) Machalleck of Coloma; three granddaughters – Shan Speers, Mimi (Bill) Hegedus and Jenny (Tyson) Allison; four great-grandchildren; a brother, John Machalleck; and a brother-in-law, Ray (Betty) Pazder.
