Richard “Dick” Joseph Wagner, 84 of Sawyer passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Cremation will take place and there are no services at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Ln St. Joseph, MI 49085 Dick was born December 21, 1927 in Oak Park, Illinois, the son of Leonard and Hope (Winter) Wagner. Dick served in the US Navy. He had a lifelong passion for reading, especially history, both ancient and modern. He also had a special appreciation for classical music. Dick was a station supervisor at ANR Pipeline Company in LaGrange, Indiana and retired after 41 years with the company in 1991. In retirement he enjoyed working outdoors on the family homstead. Dick was known by his friends as an accomplished baker. On October 22, 1951 he married Lois Lachman (Lois Wagner obituary) and she survives along with a son, Bruce (Vanessa) Wagner of Shipshewana, Indiana; two sisters - Janet (Allen) Martin of Santa Cruz, CA and Connie (Dealas) Wiley of Somonauk, IL; three brothers - David Wagner of South Carolina, Phil (Carol) Wagner of Scottsdale, AZ and Thomas (Mary) Wagner of Henderson, NV.; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
