Richard Nelson

Richard Lee Nelson, 73, of St. Joseph passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at his home.

There will be a gathering of family and friends to remember and honor Dick’s life from 2 - 4 PM Friday, May 16, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Family Life Center, 9650 N. Church Street, Bridgman, where a prayer service will be held at 3 PM.

Dick was born October 22, 1940 in St. Joseph, Michigan the son of the late Richard and Gladys (Brownlow) Nelson. Dick graduated from the University of Michigan. He was a Broker/Realtor with Century 21 American Homes for many years. Dick could be spotted shopping at every yard and garage sale there ever was. He was so addicted to it he thought there should be a “Garage Salers Anonymous” club to help those with this affliction.

Survivors include his daughter - Susan (Hans) Van den Heuvel of Carmel, IN; sons - Scott (Elizabeth) Nelson of Baroda and Steve Nelson of St. Joseph; brother - John Nelson of Coloma; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Dick was also preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Nelson.
