Richard was born on September 11, 1956 in St. Joseph, Michigan to Gus and Marie (Jungiewicz) Littke. He grew up in Bridgman, Michigan, but grew his roots in Portage, Indiana, where he was blessed with three daughters and was best known in the community through his automobile business, Rich’s Quality Motors.
Rich loved playing golf, watching stand-up comedy, spending time with friends, and he took delight in serving others. He loved connecting with people, especially in times of transition or challenge, and would go out of his way to lend a helping hand, a listening ear, or a softly-spoken sentiment to ensure their comfort and happiness. He will be remembered for his extraordinary empathy, his unwavering patience, his unconditional love, his hilarious sense of humor, and for his delicious chicken soup.
He is survived by his daughters, Amanda (Matt) Littke-Kellam and Alexandra Littke; his granddaughter, Magnolia Kellam; his ex-wife and friend, Laurie Littke; his brothers, Gus (Bonnie) Littke, Robert Littke, and Gregory (Jen) Littke; his niece Dawn (Bri and Leo) Lombardini; as well as many family members and friends who loved him dearly, including Wes (Cherie) Sonnenberg, Eli Brkljac, and Richard (Rosemary Bonner) Depetris.
Rich was preceded in death by his father, Gus, his mother, Marie, and his daughter, Alyssa Littke.
