Richard “Dick” Lynn Johnson, 77, of Stevensville passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Hanson Hospice Center.

At this time, the family will be remembering him privately. Richard was born on December 9, 1947 in Dowagiac the son of the late Robert and Thelma (Shire) Johnson. He graduated from Buchanan High School in 1966 and attended Western Michigan University. Richard served in the US Army and was a member of American Legion Post 568 in Stevensville. On March 17, 1978 he married the former Shirley Wolske. Richard was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. He retired in 2003 from Lucent Technologies Bell Labs Innovations. Richard had many interests. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, traveling, photography, and most of all singing. Through the years Richard sang with the Dreamers from Lincoln Senior Center, Lake Michigan College Concert Choir and the Lighthouse Barbershop Chorus.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Shirley; daughter, Christine Tschida; son, Mark Johnson; brothers: Thomas (Mary), Michael (Sara), James, and Kevin; sister, Ann Reinhold; sister-in-law, Jan Hostetler; a nephew, Kenneth (Stacey) Johnson; and a niece, Diana (Barry) Waggoner.

Richard was also preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd; sister, Linda; and brothers-in-law: Daniel and Raymond.

Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman.
