Richard Gene Denman

Richard Gene Denman, 92, passed away on February 4, 2024 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, Michigan.

At this time, the family will be remembering Richard privately and he will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.  Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com

Richard was born on April 15, 1931, in Bloomington, Illinois, the son of the late Elmer and Mary (Oberlin) Demman. On March 11, 1988 he married the Sandra Williams Cordero. 

Richard was previously the Fire Chief of Bloomington, Illinois and he retired from the Donald C. Nuclear Cook plant in 2012. He was a member of Pioneer Church in Berrien Springs. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Bridgman American Legion Post 331. 

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Sandra; his children: Mary Kay (Kevin) Killian, Joe (Danette) Denman, Julie (Paul) Stoeckel and Lori (Ed) Brennan; Sandy’s children: Rita Gitersonke, and Manuel (Diana) Cordero; 15 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and a brother: Jim Denman.

Richard was also preceded in death by a grandson: Adam Denman; Sandy’s daughter: Carmen Cordero; three brothers and three sisters.
