Preston Finley Helms

Preston Finley Helms, Jr. 76 of Bridgman passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022 at Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville.

A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Graceland Cemetery, 8350 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman, MI 49106. Preston was born November 4, 1946 in Bay City, the son of the late Preston and Clara (Wolford) Helms, Sr. On February 6, 1970 he married Linda Schmidt. Preston was a US Air Force veteran, serving two tours in Viet Nam. Preston was also a member of the Bridgman American Legion Post 331.  He enjoyed reading, spending time with his grandkids, coffee with his veteran friends and generally puttering around and fixing things.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Linda; daughter: Sarah Helms; grandchildren: Savannah Tucker and Phoebe Knapp; sister: Mary Haak and two nephews: Frank and Nicholas Haak.
