Philip Ronald Hercik, 84, of Baroda passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Monday, October 10, 2011 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman with Reverend Dr. Clare E. Cardy officiating. Burial will be in Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda. Friends may meet with the family from 2 - 4 PM Sunday, October 9 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice at Home, Humane Society of Southwest Michigan, or Baroda Bible Church.

Philip was born May 14, 1927 in Riverside, IL the son of the late Joseph and Julia (Sasinka) Hercik. He worked at the Baroda Post Office for 30 years and enjoyed farming the land. Philip cherished his family. Avid lover of Polka music, he enjoyed playing his accordion and piano and was a member of the Hy-tones Band. Philip was a veteran of the Army, and belonged to the American Legion Post 345 in Baroda.

On December 13, 1947 he married Mary Lou Malsch and she survives along with their children: Julee Orr of Nashville, TN, Pamela (Gary) Tomlinson of Baroda, Philip Hercik Jr. of Bridgman, Debra (Mike) Gelesko of St. Joseph, Joey (Gerri) Hercik of St. Joseph, Tena (Dean) Driscoll of St. Joseph; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters - Suzanne (Kenneth) Peters of Niles, Karen (Harold) First of Dowagiac.
