Patrick Duane Miller, of Berrien Springs passed away unexpectedly as a result of a motorcycle accident on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in Baroda Township.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, April 25, 2019 at First Church of God, 2627 Niles Avenue, St. Joseph, with Pastors Bill Zebell and Chris Spitters officiating. Burial will be in Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda. Friends may meet with the family from 5 - 7 PM Wednesday, April 24, at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of SW Michigan Yeager Family Pet Shelter, 5400 Niles Road, St. Joseph, MI 49085, First Church of God or Boy Scouts of America, Troop 603 - c/o Stevensville United Methodist Church, 5506 Ridge Road, Stevensville, MI 49127. Patrick was born Tuesday, March 22, 1988 in St. Joseph, the son of Gordon Duane and Nancy Lynn (Sparks) Miller. Patrick was a 2007 graduate of Berrien Springs High School. He played trumpet in the marching, concert and jazz bands. He graduated from Grand Valley State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Pat was an engineer at Griffin Tool for the past five years. Patrick had been a member of Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Patrick had a strong faith and a big heart. He was very proud to be an uncle to his niece Rowan. He loved hunting, camping , riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his parents: Gordon and Nancy Miller; sister: Rebecca “Becky” (Caroline) Snijder Van Wissenkerke ; niece: Rowan; grandmother: Janice Miller and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Survivors also include his dear friends, Jeremy Pagel and Garret Brondyke.
Patrick was also preceded by his grandfathers: Lowell Miller and James Sparks; grandmother: Jeanette Slosson; uncle: James Sparks Jr.; aunt: Susan Strope; and two cousins Jeffery Daniel and Joshua Sudderth.
