Patricia Sima, 95, passed away peacefully March 26, 2014, with her devoted son Rick and beloved and faithful dog Ruby at her side at Woodland Terrace, Bridgman.
Known as Pat, she is survived by three sons: James (Elaine), Thomas, and Rick; three grandchildren: Jeffrey Stahl (Nancy), Lauren Sturgeon (David), and David Sima (Catherine); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat was born February 1, 1919 in South Chicago, the daughter of the late George and Anna (Knezevich) Serdar. Pat was the last surviving child of seven siblings: George dying in Italy in WWII, Mildred, Helen, Robert, Violet and Michael.
After her husband James Edward Sima died in 1967 she received a B.A. in Liberal Arts from St. Joseph College, East Chicago, Indiana. The delight of her life was her five great grandchildren who called her GG; Aidan 12, Laney 10, Brendan 10, Ella 9, and Avery 6 weeks. She leaves the legacy of a zest for life, an enormous capacity for love and will always be remembered for her spirited personality.
A private memorial service celebrating Pat’s life will be held this spring and in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given in Pat’s name to Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085.
