Natalie Helene Hingst, 82, of Bridgman, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at home.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Saturday, March 21 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman with Pastor Jon Bendewald officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family on Saturday from 1:30 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Senior Nutrition Services.

Natalie was born February 17, 1927 in Poland the daughter of the late Gustav and Wanda (Piel) Muhlnikel. She spent her primary years in Poland and fled to Germany during WWII. After marrying Rudolf Gellert and giving birth to her son, the family immigrated to the United States. Natalie enjoyed gardening and caring for her family and friends.

Survivors include three children – Heinz Gellert of Bridgman, Doris (Chris Roebuck) Gellert of Bath, Michigan, and Linda (John) Shifflett of Catonsville, Maryland; one grandson, Nathan Shifflett; two sisters – Amanda Lissner and Ingrid Hellmich both of Germany, and a brother, Edmund Muhlnikel of Germany. She is also survived by Roger Hingst.

Natalie was also preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Muhlnikel.
