Nadine Alice Wendt

Nadine Alice Wendt, 97, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Powell House Assisted Living in St. Joseph.

A funeral will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Pike Funeral Home, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman, MI 49106 with Reverend David Londot officiating. Burial will be in Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. Nadine was born on February 28, 1927 in Buchanan, to William and Maude (Garberson) Schultz. She graduated from Baroda High school in 1944 (GO BULLDOGS!) and lived her entire life in the BIG ‘burb of Baroda. On July 17, 1949 she married the love of her life, Clarence A. Wendt and he preceded her in death on January 15, 1996. Nadine was a lifetime member of the Baroda Bible Church, where she was the pianist for many years. Of her more than 50 years of employment, Nadine most enjoyed her 25 years at Baroda Hardware followed by 20 years at Hermel Die Casting in Eau Claire. Closely behind work, Nadine enjoyed collecting antiques, crystal glassware and occasionally a trip to the casino.

Survivors include her niece, Sharon (Somora) Coury of Gulfport, MS; nephews: Lon Somora of Medford, NJ, and Kenneth Schultz, Jr. of St. Joseph; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Nadine was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Audrey Somora and Wilma Burkhard; and big brother, Kenneth Schultz, Sr.
