Michael Prenkert

Michael Allen Prenkert, 52, of Buchanan passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Lakeland Specialty Hospital, Berrien Center.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, November 27, 2009 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. Burial will be in New Troy Cemetery at a later date. Friends may meet with the family from 10-11 AM Friday at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Mike was born September 1, 1957 in St. Joseph the son of Robert and Alma (Miller) Prenkert. He was employed at Weldun International for 28 years and Duramold in Stevensville for 7 years.

Survivors include his former wife – Lisa Prenkert of Buchanan; three children – Holli (Jason) Wood of Benton Harbor, Michael Prenkert of Buchanan, and Tyler Prenkert of Buchanan; an expected grandchild in March 2010 – Isabella Judith Wood; his mother – Alma Prenkert; two brothers – Robert Prenkert of Buchanan and James (Donna) Prenkert of Georgia; Lisa’s parents – Harold and Lucille Hodder of Buchanan; and his faithful canine friend, Daisy.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Robert Prenkert in 1985.
