Maxine Sorrels

Maxine Margaret Sorrels, 85, of Bridgman passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman, with Reverend Mike Schoeplein officiating. Burial will be in North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may meet with the family from 10 - 11 AM prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Road to Life Church, 3800 Niles Road, St. Joseph, MI 49085 or Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085.

Maxine was born August 21, 1928 in Indiana, the daughter of the late John G. and Sophia (Winters) Harper. She married Vincent Sorrels in June 24, 1957 and he preceded her in death in 1998. Maxine was a member of Road to Life Church in St. Joseph and had worked at Jordan’s Life Care Center in the 80's. She was an avid reader and enjoyed all types of puzzles.

Survivors include her children - Daniel Sorrels of Stevensville, Debby (Michael) Wieczorek of Sawyer, Nancy (Anthony C.) Baggett of Galien; grandchildren - Kelly (Brett) Brown, Carrie Wieczorek, Kimberly Wieczorek, Joseph (Shelley) Baggett, Mishelle (Zaq) Weaver, Vincent Baggett; and sister - Georgia Kent of South Carolina.

She is also preceded in death by four brothers - Leslie, Donald, Edwin and Kenneth.
