Mary Lou Hercik, 83, of Baroda passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph.

Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman with Reverend Christopher Noffke officiating. Burial will be in Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda. Friends may meet with the family from 6 - 8 PM Monday, May 11 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Marie Yeager Cancer Center, 3950 Hollywood Rd. #240, St. Joseph, MI 49085 or Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Ln, St. Joseph, MI 49085.

Mary was born October 24, 1931 in Baroda, the daughter of the late Ora and Irene (Heinrich) Malsch. On December 13, 1947 she married her sweetheart, Philip R. Hercik, and built a beautiful life together on their 40 acre farm. After 31 years of driving school bus for Lakeshore Public Schools she continued her life caring for her six children, ten grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Philip preceded her in death on October 6, 2011.

Her surviving children include – Julee Orr of Nashville, TN, Pamela (Gary) Tomlinson of Baroda, Philip Hercik Jr. of Bridgman, Debra (Mike) Gelesko of St. Joseph, Joey (Gerri) Hercik of St. Joseph, and Tena (Dean) Driscoll of St. Joseph; ten grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Mary also has two living two brothers – Gerald (Eve) Malsch of Blakely, GA and Jack (Marie) Malsch of Bridgman; and two living sisters – Judy Malsch of Marne, MI and Wilma Blaine of Sand Lake, MI.

Mary was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Malsch.
