Marie Detterbeck

Marie “Toots” Anna (Loraff) Detterbeck, 89 of Bridgman passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Country Manor Care Center, Bridgman.

Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Friday, January 26, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9650 N. Church, Bridgman, with Reverend Carl Bassett officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family from 1 - 2 PM prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Country Manor Care Center, 11241 California Road, Bridgman, MI 49106 or Immanuel Lutheran Church, PO Box 26, Bridgman.

Marie was born Saturday, December 8, 1928 in Bridgman the daughter of the late Emil and Elizabeth (Schultz) Loraff. She married Jay Allen Detterbeck. She enjoyed playing a good round of BINGO, but mostly loved being with her nieces, nephews and extended family. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Bridgman American Legion Post #331. Marie was also a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bridgman.

Survivors include her husband: Jay; Marie’s daughter: Isla Case; grandchildren: Gary (Kim) Case, Chad (Heather) Case, Nicole Walker; thirteen great grandchildren; siblings: Dorothy Priefer, Carolyn “Mitzie” (Max) Nauman, Doris McLachlan; and many nieces and nephews.

Marie was also preceded in death by her brothers: Henry and Emil Jr. “Sonny” Loraff.
