Marie Brecht

Marie Emily Brecht, 99, of Stevensville passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Lakeland Specialty Hospital, Berrien Center.

Private family graveside services will be held. Marie was born June 16, 1910 in Berwyn, Illinois the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Surch) Radic. In 1933 she married Fred W. Brecht, Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1983. She was the bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Brecht & Radic 7UP Distributing, and also owned and operated Stevensville Florist. Marie had been a President of the Stevensville Elementary PTA and a Cub Scout Leader. She enjoyed reading and collecting stamps.

Survivors include two children – Isla Kisker and Fred (Janet) Brecht, Jr. all of Stevensville; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

Marie was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
