Marcella Wycoff

Marcella Rose Wycoff, 79, of New Troy passed away on Monday, February 2, 2009 at Jordan’s Life Care Center, Bridgman.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, February 6, 2009 at New Troy Grace Brethren Church with Pastor Mike Ostrander officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 PM Thursday at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to New Troy Grace Brethren Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Mrs. Wycoff was born November 28, 1929 in Bridgman the daughter of the late Edward and Adina (Mensinger) Schmaltz. Her father died when she was 4 months old. When she was 3 years old, her mother married Elmer Kittleson. On July 8, 1950 she married Robert L. Wycoff. Marcella lived in New Troy all her life, except for a short period of time when her family once lived in Three Oaks.. She was a lifetime member of New Troy Grace Brethren Church. Marcella was an avid doll collector. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Bob; four children – Dawn (David) Woodward of Coloma, Lester (Brenda) Wycoff of Three Oaks, Tony (Sue) Wycoff of Niles, and Annette (Dale, Sr.) Holloway of Niles; five grandchildren – Megan (Matthew) Quinn, Brandon Woodward, Andrew Wycoff, Ashley Wycoff, and Dale Holloway, Jr.; one great grandchild, Kennedy Rose Holloway; two sisters – Florence (Dennis) Casto of Galien and Mary (John) Bolin of New Troy; and a brother, Dean (Bernice) Kittleson of St. Joseph.

Marcella was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Wycoff; two brothers – Roy and Russell Schmaltz; and an infant sister, Martha Schmaltz.
