Mabel Schmaltz

Mabel Minnie Schmaltz, 95, of Baroda, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Glendora, 1733 Glendora Road, Buchanan, with Reverend Jonathan Liebich officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 5 - 7 PM Friday at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. Memorials may be given to the church.

Mabel was born on November 10, 1919 in Bridgman, daughter to the late Fred A. and Edith (Gast) Ott. On August 23, 1941 she married Henry R. Schmaltz and he preceded her in death in 1986. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Glendora.

Mabel is survived by her children: Donald (Carolyn) Schmaltz of Baroda, Terry (Mary) Schmaltz of Plattsburgh, New York, Tom (Susan) Schmaltz of Baroda; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; siblings: Shirley (Larry) Eber of Baroda, Donna Mach of Baroda, and Lorraine Reifschneider of Baroda.

Mabel was also preceded in death by five brothers: Norman, Ervin, Raymond, Leslie and Herbert; and a sister Adeline Hasse.
