It is with overwhelming sadness that we share the passing of Lynda Marie (Potter) Riggs. Lynda passed away on June 19th, 2024. She was 68 years old.
A memorial service for Lynda will be held 1 PM, Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Our Saviour’s United Methodist Church (701 E Schaumburg Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60194). Friends may meet with the family from 12 Noon until the time of the service at church. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com
Lynda was born in Bridgeport, Michigan, ultimately finding a home in Illinois. After attending Saginaw Valley State University, she became an elementary school teacher. She later went on to also attend Michigan State University and Northeastern University (Chicago, IL). Most importantly, Lynda was a daughter, mother, Nana, and friend. To many of us, she held more than a few roles. She was also a proud Ovarian Cancer survivor. In her free time, Lynda enjoyed traveling the world with friends and family alike, was a photography enthusiast, volunteered wherever she could, but primarily in her church, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Lynda is survived by her three children Daniel (Mary Ann) Riggs, Jillian (Jon) McLaughlin, and Jeffrey (Amanda) Riggs; four grandchildren (Nathan McLaughlin, Grace Shuger, Caden Riggs, and Cameron Riggs); a multitude of friends; and a lifetime of students.
Lynda was preceded in death by her mother, Mary, father, John, and brother, John.
Arrangements entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, Boyd Chapel. 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman.
