Lucille was born on June 5, 1932 on the family farm in Baroda, the daughter of the late Emil and Elsie (Krieger) Hasse. As their first daughter of 10 children, her job was to care for the younger children. She was the first in her family to graduate from high school, New Troy class of 1950. She worked at GC Murphy, Industrial Rubber, I&M, Emlongs, and JCPenney retiring in 1994 after 15 years. She also stained and finished the wood work in several of the homes her husband built. On New Years Eve 1952, she met Arthur Grau and they were married on September 18, 1954 and enjoyed 56 years together until his passing on April 10, 2011. She kept a beautiful home and loved to share her love of baking with others. Her walls are covered with her needlework and we are all covered with her afghans. Lucille was a member of Christ Lutheran Church for over 67 years and enjoyed the pastors Bible classes.
