Louise Shaffer

Louise Marie Shaffer, 87, of Benton Harbor, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at her home.

Mrs. Shaffer was born August 26, 1920 in Bridgman the daughter of the late Edward and Alvina (Reck) Gast. On May 7, 1954 she married William F. Shaffer and he preceded her in death on July 10, 1982. Louise was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. She was a lifelong resident of Berrien County. Louise was a Registered Nurse. Prior to her retirement in 1988, she taught Occupational Health at Benton Harbor High School, worked at the Berrien County Health Department, and held other positions in the health care field. Her joys in life were her two grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
